(IBA of San Diego), having served the interests of local
Independent Insurance Agents since 1934. As our industry
has changed, so have the projects, involvement and goals
of this association.

COMMITTEE REPORT
Golf Tournament
We are very excited to announce a new
venue for our annual IBA of San Diego Golf Tournament
- Carlton Oaks Golf Course in Santee. This award-winning
Dye-designed course is considered the hidden gem of
San Diego County. Phil Mickelson calls the 18th hole
at Carlton Oaks "the best finishing hole in San Diego."
For those of you that have played the course, and
have had to brave the 180-yard or more approach to
the green over a lake and into the prevailing wind,
you know what he means.
The date of our tournament is Friday,
September 5th. We are expecting a field of over 100
golfers this year, so please save the date and register
early!

IBA West
Program will be 2003 IBA West President
Neal Nakashima and IBA West Service Corporation
head, Clark Payan. Important subjects to
be covered are the Workers' Comp meltdown,
looming legislation to federalize insurance
regulation, Trusted Choice, and CDI's proposal
to cap expenses (including commissions)
that insurers may file.

in February to give us an opportunity to
express our concerns & questions regarding
the association. They will also be updating
us on changes, benefits, & services provided
by the State Association. If anyone has
a particular question or comment that they
would like to present to the State, please

to take place and how you can participate.

classes taught at Grossmont College, 8800
Grossmont College Dr., El Cajon, CA. through
the ROP Insurance division.
Classes begin January 27, 2003. Registration
begins December 3, 2002.
