We are the Insurance Brokers & Agents of San Diego (IBA of San Diego), having served the interests of local Independent Insurance Agents since 1934. As our industry has changed, so have the projects, involvement and goals of this association.

Dear IBASD Members,

I am sure that many of you have already seen the beginning of the year addresses for 2012. I know that this brings some interesting questions with regards to the Mayan calendar and other interesting trivia. So, I will start out by saying that I hope the predictions are false and that we will all be celebrating another New Year’s Day in 2013. All kidding aside, I am very excited about this year of 2012. So much is happening that will showcase and highlight what is going on here in San Diego for this insurance industry. As in years past, you can be assured that the quality events this San Diego association has been known for will be as spectacular as ever. It is my utmost pleasure to report that IBA of San Diego gave well over $40,000 to different organizations in 2012. It is undoubtedly your support and effort that we are able to make this happen. This year’s board is dedicated to the same philosophy of helping our community and with your help again, we will be even more successful.

You will not want to miss our events this year for sure. I-Day will bring back San Diego’s loved Baseball player and coach, Tony Gwynn as the keynote speaker. The precedent has been set, the golf tournament will be held at the popular Maderas Golf Club. Watch for a few events from the San Diego Young Agents that will prove to draw out some folks for fun events. The Holiday party will undoubtedly be fun and raise some money for a few great causes. I am energized to say the least, as I think about the coming year.

Lastly, I want to take this opportunity to thank all of our members as well as our associate members for the opportunity to be a part of this organization. It is an absolute pleasure to work with you and your elected board members to make a difference for our industry. I am a very big advocate of what IBA West is all about. If you have not taken the time to get to know what our association does, please make an effort to find out about all that it has to offer. From advocacy to education and beyond, it very nice to know that there is someone watching our industry and helping to keep insurance agents and broker’s interests at first hand. Locally, it is incredible to work with so many of you who do so much for our community and meet new faces along the way. Please know that if you ever have any questions or problems that I might be able to address for you, I would be glad to hear from you.
